Hello Everyone!

I am thrilled to have you here reading my blog! To my Australian friends or anyone who speaks English as first language, sincere apologies because I haven’t got much in English language. However, I do promise to present materials in both the languages in the future.

Let me briefly introduce myself. Born Madhab Raj Paudel, I took up my nom de plume Nisprabh Saji since I had my first book BHUPARIVESTITI KHUTTAHARU published in 2005. I was born and raised in Pokhara, one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal. Anyone who's been to that lake city will no doubt concur that it is in fact one of the most idyllic places on earth.

I moved to Australia in 2007 when I was just twenty-four. Ten years on, I am the blessed husband of Jayanti and father to two precious girls, ‘IRA’ & ‘IMA’.

I began writing Nepali poems in 2003. When I began my creative journey, no one in Nepal considered writing to be a profession and I wasn’t an exception. I also wrote out of passion. Probably that's why, despite being seven seas away from home and faced with typical hardships an early migrant life, I managed to publish my second anthology of poems Ijalasama Lahure Phool in 2010.

The first English-language novel I ever read was Love Story by Erich Segal. While in College, I became a voracious reader of books by BP Koirala, Osho, as well as many other Nepali writers. In November 2015, I found myself holding my own novel, DARLING HARBOUR. During its launch in Kathmandu, I fondly held the book close to my heart just the way I hold my baby daughters.

According to a poll by Kantipur SaptahikDarling Harbour happened to be one of the best sellers that year. Even today, I get pleasantly surprised every time readers from different parts of Nepal and the globe send me messages and photos about the book. These appreciative pictures of my readers posing with Darling Harbour in their living rooms, backyards, buses, trains, flight, airports and farms  inspire me to keep going. I have learnt a lot from my readers. Their feedback and comments hone my skills as a writer for which I remain deeply indebted to them. In fact, readers have unknowingly taught me many things during interactions and book signings. It is this inspiration which keeps me undistracted as I continue to work on my upcoming novel KHARBARI.

Song-writing has also been a great experience in my journey so far. Songs like MAYA LAGDAINA ABA TIMRO BHANI from movie RITU and BARIKO KANLO are two of my most appreciated songs. Approximately 30 songs-gazals penned by me have been recorded so far, sung by various Nepali artistes. Most are available on YouTube. Composed by Nepal's renown musicians and sung by local A-listers, my music album HARMONY went public in 2010 and IRA in 2013.

If you wish to write me, please email me at nisprabhsaji@gmail.com or please find me on social media.

Once again, thank you for stopping by. You all are wonderful.

Regards,
